Privacy Policy

Short version: this is a static guide with no sign-up form, no comment box and no analytics script. The only visitor data that exists is what any web server and Cloudflare write down to deliver a page, and we do not combine it with anything else.
1. Who runs this site, and who does not
betika-et.com is an independent guide to Betika in Ethiopia. It is not the Betika website, it is not run by Addis Telco Services S.C., and it is not affiliated with Betika International Limited. Nobody here can see your Betika account, your wallet or your bets. For anything about an actual account — a stuck OTP, a withheld withdrawal, a closed ticket — the operator is the only party that can act, and the National Lottery Administration is the authority above it.

2. What this site does not collect
There is nothing here that asks you for personal data, so none is gathered:
- No registration, login or user profile on this domain.
- No contact form, comment field, review box or newsletter sign-up.
- No phone number, email address, ID document or payment detail requested or stored.
- No Google Analytics, Matomo, Meta Pixel, Hotjar or similar tracker is loaded.
- No advertising network and no remarketing tags.
If you send an email to the address above, the message and your address sit in that mailbox until we delete them. That is the only path by which we receive anything you typed.
3. Cookies and browser storage
This site sets no cookies of its own, writes nothing to localStorage, and runs no fingerprinting script. One small JavaScript file handles the buttons that lead to Betika; it reads nothing from your browser and stores nothing in it.
Cloudflare, which serves the domain, may set a security cookie such as __cf_bm or cf_clearance to tell a browser apart from an automated client. Those are strictly technical, short-lived, and under Cloudflare's control rather than ours. Clearing cookies in your browser removes them; the pages keep working without them.
4. Server logs and Cloudflare
Delivering a page requires the request to be logged. Both the origin server and Cloudflare keep standard access records:

These records are not used to build a profile, are not sold, and are not matched against anything you do on Betika.
5. Affiliate links and what the operator sees
The buttons on this site are affiliate links. Pressing one hands you over to a tracking address and then to Betika, and the operator is told that the visit came from this site so that any commission is attributed correctly. From that moment the operator's own privacy policy governs what happens, including whatever it records at registration: phone number, password, the OTP, and the payment details tied to your Telebirr, CBE Birr, HelloCash or Amole wallet.
We never see those details. We receive aggregate counts of clicks and registrations, with no name, number or amount attached to them. This site also sends Referrer-Policy: no-referrer, so the page you came from is not passed along in the handover.
6. Legal bases under the GDPR
For visitors in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, the processing above rests on legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)): keeping the site available, defending it against automated abuse, and being paid for referrals we actually sent. No consent banner is shown because nothing here needs consent — there are no analytics or advertising cookies to consent to. If you write to us, we process your message to answer it, which is also a legitimate interest.
7. How long anything is kept
Access logs rotate on a short cycle and are then overwritten. Cloudflare keeps its edge data on its own schedule. Email you send us stays in the mailbox until it is no longer needed for the conversation, after which it is deleted. There is no archive of visitors because there is no visitor database to archive.
8. Who the data reaches
- The hosting provider — operates the server on which the files sit.
- Cloudflare — serves the domain, filters abusive traffic, terminates TLS.
- The affiliate platform and Betika — receive the fact that a click came from here, not your identity.
Nothing is shared with advertisers or data brokers. Disclosure to an authority would happen only on a lawful, specific request, and only for what the logs already contain.
9. Your rights under the GDPR
You may ask for access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability, or object to processing based on legitimate interests. Write to contact@betika-et.com. One honest limitation applies: without an account, a cookie or any identifier of yours, we usually cannot tell which log line out of millions is you. In that case we will say so plainly rather than hand over someone else's record. You can also complain to your national data protection authority.
10. California: CCPA and CPRA
We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. No sensitive personal information is collected, so there is nothing to limit the use of. The categories of personal information touched are limited to internet activity and device identifiers in server logs, as described in section 4. California residents may exercise the rights to know, delete and correct through the same email address, and we do not discriminate against anyone who does.
11. Age and children
Betting in Ethiopia is for adults aged 18 and over, and this guide is written for them. The site is not aimed at children, collects nothing from anyone, and therefore holds no child's data. A parent who believes something reached us by email can ask for it to be deleted and it will be.
12. Changes to this policy
If what the site does changes — a form is added, a measurement tool is introduced — this page is updated first and the date at the top moves with it. There is no mailing list to notify, so the date is the honest marker of when the text last matched reality.
